but is hardy to U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zone 4.
Other species native to China include the Cataola Farges catalpa
(Catalpa fargesii). It has pretty,
unusual speckled flowers.

Catalpa cultivars of the southern variety include ‘Aurea,’ which offers bright
