Global warming is the ‘hot’ environmental issue under discussion. A general rise in the temperatures above the normal in all seasons is referred to as ‘Global warming.’
Hence, global warming is one of the biggest issues faced by people today. According to climate experts, it is a problem that needs to be addressed right now.
Otherwise, it will be too late, and people will have no place to go. Air pollution caused by the emission of smoke, carbon dioxide, and other gases leads to a gas cover that has a greenhouse effect in the atmosphere. The heat produced by the sunlight or that generated in the atmosphere by different sources gets trapped in the atmosphere. This leads to a general warming up.
Some of the evident effects of global warming can be listed as follows:
- A rise in overall temperature of the planet Earth.
- Migration of people due to floods and other calamities.
- Melting of glaciers.
- A rise in the overall water levels in oceans.
- Extreme winters in some regions.
The effect of the warming up is a rise in temperature above the normal recorded temperatures.
Climate is being affected. Places are experiencing climates that are not a part of their natural relief. Summers are becoming hotter in many places. There is a disruption or disturbance of the seasonal cycles. The entire ecosystem gets disturbed by a change in these cycles.
Another effect is the glacial melting. The ice cover on the poles is disappearing fast. The glaciers turn to water raise the water level on the surface of the earth, leading to flooding in different places.
These are some of the important effects of global warming that can bring about big changes in the way we all live our lives today. Hence, we need to take immediate actions and cut down on CO2 emissions by adopting sustainable means of living.
