I like to travel a lot but it gets a little difficult with my busy schedule. But since this was our honeymoon trip, we wanted it to be special and perfect. Day 1 – Arrival in Mauritius

We landed at Port Louis around 2 PM in the afternoon where we waited for a while. There was a group of 6-7 couples and the bus waited for all of them to arrive before we embarked on our wonderful trip.

The bus finally started around 4 in the evening and we reached Anelia Hotel at around 5:30 PM. We were offered tasty refreshments, post which we took rest in our rooms. Later in the night we had dinner at the hotel and retired for the night.

Day 2 – Trip To Model Ship Factory and Grand Bassin

After a lazy first day we were too excited about our trip to begin. Our cab arrived at 8:30 AM in the morning and we went to the Model Ship Factory. It was a beautiful and unique experience.

We watched craftsmen building small ships, and we could even buy some as souvenirs, along with other other handicraft items. Another special thing we bought was a photo album that was created by the locals themselves, and this prized possession now adorns our picture from our amazing honeymoon trip to Mauritius.

Later on the same day, we visited the Grand Bassin which is a top attraction of Mauritius. We were in awe of goddess Durga’s statue here which is the tallest in the world! It was a splendid and overwhelming sight for both of us. We also came across a smaller, but equally majestic statue of Lord Shiva.

Next, we went ahead to enjoy the scenic beauty of Mauritius. The sight of beautiful hills and waterfalls was just mesmerizing! My wife and I clicked a lot of pictures. It was a sight that we couldn’t take our eyes off. After an exhausting but happy day we returned to our paradiscal hotel by 6:30 PM in the evening. We freshened up and had snacks. After having dinner, we headed to the beach that was close to the hotel. Though the high tides refrained us from going too far into the waters, we had a beautiful time with each other.

Day 3 – Leisure Day At Port Louis

Our day again started early and our bus arrived at 8:30 AM in the morning. After having a scrumptious breakfast we headed towards the capital city of Mauritius – Port Louis. It was a splendid experience to visit this commercial hub of Mauritius.

We could see cargo ships being loaded and unloaded at the docks. We clicked a few pictures and later we wandered to the mall. At around 4 PM we went back to our hotel.

Though we had a quite relaxing day at Port Louis, we feel there was still a lot more we could have done. For once, our agent could have included some exciting attractions and activities in our itinerary rather than making us visit malls. The day wasn’t too fruitful and we could hear also other people complaining.

Nevertheless, we still made the most of our trip and rushed back to the beach. Mauritius beaches were one of the best places we visited on our honeymoon trip. We simply lay on the sands of Mauritius, listening to the waves and being in each other’s arms.

Day 4 – Water Sports At Belle Mare

This was the best day of our trip. There are a lot of things to do in Mauritius and this one is the best. We went to enjoy water sports at Belle Mare where we tried Banana Ride and the thrilling Underwater Sea Walk. The sea walk was a totally new and amazing experience. Both of us truly enjoyed it! There were few other sports but we couldn’t try them due to bad weather conditions, and even got a refund for those right there.

We also went to Île Aux Cerfs island and enjoyed the scenic views of Grand River South East Waterfall. We clicked pictures and enjoyed the day to the fullest.

Day 5 – Time Off At The Beach

This was our leisure day and it gave us that much needed time we wanted to spend in each other’s company and away from everyone else. We went to the beach, our perfect little spot on this trip.

We enjoyed the local sights of people fishing. We basked in the sun and spent quality time with one another. It was our perfect time together!

Day 6 – Visit To The Casela National Park

Today was our last day in Mauritius. We went to the Casela National Park. It was another amazing experience and a highlight of our trip. We took the safari ride and saw wild animals roaming around feely.

It was an enthralling experience as we could click pictures with tigers! Though the charges were too high, we still went for it as it is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

There were souvenirs stores too and we bought cups and caps for remembrance. We had our flight the same night and we said goodbye to this idyllic place that gave us lifelong memories to cherish!
