The most popular Hindu temple in Bangkok, Thailand is the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple. It is also known as ‘Wat Khaek’ temple which refers to the Indian culture in Thailand. Also known as Uma Devi temple, this temple is based on the South Indian architecture and dates back to 1879. After India turned into a colony of the British Raj, some people from Tamil Nadu have left the country. They came to Thailand as gemstones traders and then, a leader of their group called as Vaithi built this temple. This temple is in the street in Silom, which is also known as Vithy Lane. This temple has three shrines in total which are dedicates to the Lords Ganesh, Karthik. The main shrine is for Maha Mariamman. The temple is built according to the gopuram style which is quite prominent in the South Indian Temples.

2. Erawan Shrine, Bangkok

The Erawan Shrine, was built in 1956 by the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel in the Pathum Wan district. There are many shopping centers nearby, so a lot of tourists do come over here for worshipping and shopping. There are other shrines for worshipping the other gods too like Phra Trimurti, Phra Khanet etc. This shrine represents or stages the idol of Lord Brahma. This shrine was constructed when an astrologer suggested the Erawan Hotel people to build a small shrine to ward off all the negative energies. And the owner did just that. Also, it is visited by many tourists all over the world.

This shrine is just opposite the Narayana Statue which is in front of the Intercontinental Hotel.The temple is just in the same street of the Erawan shrine. This shrine is dedicated to the Lord Indra who is the supreme ruler of gods. There are also small elephant figurines over here. These hindu shrines and temples are very close to each other. There are a total of 5 various hindu shrines dedicated to each god near the Narayana shrine. This is located in the Intercontinental hotel. A lot of locals believe that Lord Narayana is the protector of the locals and their livelihood. The Lord also protects them from any illness. Thus, they worship this Lord regularly. Again, this shrine is located in front of the Central World Bangkok. This is near to the Ganesh Temple which is also located near the Central World Bangkok. You have a certain way of offering your obeisances to the God. You need to offer exactly nine red incense sticks, red candles, red roses and fruits. The best time to visit this shrine is in the evening time. This God basically grants all the wishes of love and prosperity which explains the red roses and fruits.
