To me, Memorial Day is about remembering all of the lives that have been lost. I feel like it’s important to not only remember our fallen soldiers but also those who are suffering from war and its consequences. It’s also a day when many families gather and hug each other as they recall their loved ones who have passed away while serving the U.S military. I have always loved Memorial Day because of the fact that I get to spend time with my family.   I believe that it is important for everyone to know what Memorial Day means. In my home, it was a day where we came together and remembered the sacrifices that our veterans and loved ones had made to keep us safe. We watched movies, usually war movies but also some comedy. We also ate a large meal as a family. It was always a relaxing day for me but it started to take on different meanings when I became an adult. As I’m getting older, my family is getting smaller, so the importance of Memorial Day has become more significant. I no longer decorate the house like I used to and instead spend time with my friends and family who are able to make it out of town.
