Short Paragraph on Banyan Tree (Ficus benghalensis)

Banyan tree (Indian banyan) is a dicotyledonous tree under angiosperm and its scientific name is Ficus benghalensis.

A banyan tree is a huge evergreen perennial tree with branches. A specialized type of root is found hanging from the branches, which is known as prop root that gives additional support to the stem. Leaves, stems produce latex.

Flowers: The Banyan tree produces flowers which is not normally visible from outside. Hence it is a flowering plant under phanerogams.

Fruits: Fruit is small, round, reddish in color containing seeds with two cotyledons.
