Jamiat-ul-Ulema-i-Hind (1933)
It is a organisation of small group of nationalist Muslims working in association with Indian National Congress; joined freedom struggle; influence has increased after 1947; at Lucknow session (1949) it was decided to eschew politics, devote activities to religious and cultural amelioration of Muslims; interested in conserving communal harmony.
