Location of Gujarat

The State of Gujarat was formed on the 1st May, 1960 as a result of the re-organization of the former Bombay (Mumbai) State.

The State of Gujarat is located on the west coast of India between 20°01. N and 24°07. N latitudes and 68°04. E and 74°04 E longitudes. The State is bounded by the Arabian Sea in the west, Pakistan and Rajasthan in the north and the east, Madhya Pradesh in the south-east and Maharashtra in the south.

Gujarat State has an area of 1,96,024 sq. km.
