How To Reach Kasauli

By road: Kasauli is approximately 290 KMs away from New Delhi. It will take a little more than 6 hours drive from New Delhi to Kasauli via car.

Kasauli is 58 KMs away from the city of Chandigarh. It is almost a 2 hour drive away from Chandigarh. There are two alternative paths to Kasauli from Chandigarh by road. One is travelling from Chandigarh through the small hilly town of Parwanoo. This is a shorter route from Chandigarh. Other route is slightly longer – which is from Chandigarh to Gadhakal via Dharampur and then reaching to Kasauli. This may be a longer route but the road conditions are much better on this route as compared to the one going through Parwanoo. Sudden snowfall may lead to slower traffic movement if you are travelling in peak winters.

By train : Nearest railway station to Kasauli is the railway station at Kalka. Kalka is almost 25 km away from the hill station of Kasauli. From Kalka you may get taxis to travel to Kasauli. Kalka is well connected to New Delhi and other major cities via the train network.

Having said that, the hustle and bustle of Gurgaon needs no introduction, for Indians at least. This is why I make sure that I take regular breaks from work, and escape to some place new.

Tired from all the journey, the first day was a bit chilled out in Kasol. We had breakfast at Mandi, and reached the place a bit late in the morning.

Undoubtedly, the highlight of the trip was the absolutely stunning Kheerganga trek on the second day. Stretching upto a distance of about 12 kilometers through rough terrains, and different landscapes, it took us almost five to six hours to complete the trek.

Nonetheless, every bit of the trek was thrilling to the core which kept pushing us to test our limits. We finally reached Kheerganga by 5 pm in the evening of the second day, and there came a sense of relief.
