Fan ID is a personalized spectator card which can be obtained by anyone who buys a ticket to any of the matches of FIFA World Cup 2018. It will allow a visa-free entry 10 days before the first game and up to 10 days after the last game. The special spectator card will also let fans access public transport in the host cities for free.
To obtain a Fan ID, you can either apply online on the official website of FIFA World Cup or go to any of the Fan ID distribution centres.
All you need to submit is a valid passport, an original color photograph, and a duly filled application form to have the spectator card delivered at your doorstep once the application is approved.
This is a smart move by the Russian government to encourage tourism in the country since June is also the best time to visit Russia. The first match commences on 14 June 2018 and the event will continue for over a month.
