The Puri Lukisan Museum is the oldest art museum in Ubud, Bali. It is home to the finest collection of traditional Balinese paintings and wood carvings. The collection includes examples of all of the artistic styles in Bali including the Ubud, Young Artist, Sanur, Keliki schools and Batuan. It was here in Ubud that the modern Balinese art movement started. Set in a beautiful formal garden, the museum has four buildings displaying works from all periods of Balinese art as well as schools. The works are labelled in English and focus on modern masters including Ida Bagus Made (1915–1999), Gusti Nyoman Lempad (1862–1978) and Gusti Made Kwandji (1936–2013).
