The Best Way To Spend A Short and Sweet Romantic Vacation In Pattaya

“While deciding on our possible vacation destination, I followed the age-old mantra of ‘sasta, sundar, aur tikau’ to select a 3 nights/4 days romantic vacation in Pattaya. Our requirement of visiting a beautiful international destination that would be light on the pocket  got fulfilled perfectly with Pattaya.”

As a frequent traveler, I have visited 8 destinations in the past one year. Since my childhood days, I have always felt the urge to visit as many places as possible. This time, I was looking for a short international vacation with my wife to a beautiful beach destination. I started searching for Thailand holiday packages on Google and from there I found out about TravelTriangle and their mobile application.

Thailand had been on my bucket list for a long time, and to strike that place off my list with my wife on a romantic vacation in Pattaya gave me an immense sense of excitement for the upcoming four days.

Day 1: An early morning arrival in Pattaya

Our journey began with a flight from Ahmedabad to Bangkok via Kolkata. We landed at the airport in Bangkok by 1 am, and after completing our immigration process, we met our driver who received and drove us straightaway to Pattaya. We arrived in Pattaya at 5 am and did an early check into Centara Grand Phratamnak Pattaya. This morning we caught up on some lost sleep and then went out for lunch at noon.

Post lunch, we started our sightseeing tour with by visiting the Botanical Garden at Nong Nooch village- an immensely beautiful garden complex home to thousands of flowers spread over 500 acres.

In the evening, we quickly returned to the hotel and got ready for the Alcazar show. We reached there a bit early making sure that we wouldn’t miss the glitz and glamour of one of the world’s finest cabaret shows. After the two-hour long show, we returned back to the hotel for the night.

Day 2: We experienced the ultimate water sports thrill at Coral Island

The second day of our romantic vacation in Pattaya began with breakfast and then we got ready for a full day tour of Coral Island. We took a speedboat from Pattaya beach and arrived at Coral Island.

Our thrilling day of water sports began with the undersea walk, and banana boat ride. After that, we took the word adventure to a whole new level with an incredible paragliding session. What made gliding 50 feet in the air all the more special was the spectacular views around Coral Island.

After we got free from the watersports at 3 pm, we returned to Pattaya via speedboat. This day, for lunch, we decided to try some delicious Thai cuisine. Normally, I’m more experimental than my wife when it comes to food, but this time both of us tried new things and liked what was offered to us.

In the evening, we wandered out to the famous walking street in Pattaya. We went there with a purpose of shopping and explore the vibrant nightlife of Pattaya.

Day 3: Witnessed the underwater animals like never before

The next day, we were scheduled for a visit to the Underwater Sea World in Pattaya. Upon reaching there, I felt like I was in a beautiful dream, as I had never been to such a huge and gorgeous oceanarium in my life. The experience of going into the glass sealed tunnel walking area and witnessing sting rays and tiger sharks float above us was truly amazing.

After that, we visited the Tiger Park in Pattaya- a sanctuary for tigers who’ve been rescued from poachers, or found injured in the wild and are unable to take care of themselves. In the evening, we returned to the Walking Street to buy some souvenirs for our friends and family.

Day 4: A fond farewell to Pattaya

Alas, our short yet sweet adventure in Pattaya was on its final legs. We checked out of the Centara Grand Phratamnak and started our journey back to the international airport in Bangkok.

The reason why I love to take short trips all across the map is that there is something extremely relaxing and comforting about staying at one place and exploring it to the fullest. On our romantic vacation in Pattaya, my wife and I experienced the hospitality, beauty, and diversity of Thailand. After this positive experience, my wife and I are very motivated to explore other places in Thailand.

Tips for travelers:

  • Although, we paid a little extra to have an early check-in, but it is always better to do so in order to save time and daylight.
  • Stay away from Indians traveling in large groups in Pattaya. There are a lot of snob tourists from India who could spoil your vacation.

Tomatina Festival And More: Here’s What All You Can Do On Your Spain Getaway This August In 2021!

With the Tomatina festival just round the corner, there couldn’t be a better time to visit Spain! But when questions like where to stay, where to eat, how to commute, and how much to spend start to haunt us, that much-awaited Spain getaway to experience Tomatina goes down the drain. And while most other blogs give ample information on what the festival is about, they leave out the crucial bit. But not anymore!

We have put together for you a complete guide of the Spain tomato festival with essential info like accommodation options, restaurants, bars, sightseeing options, transportation, shopping, etc, that you can keep in mind while browsing budget Spain tour packages from India.

When is La Tomatina festival 2021?

La Tomatina will be celebrated on 25th August 2021 in Buñol. The festival is celebrated on the last Wednesday of August.

Where does La Tomatina take place?

visit the charming bunol town

La Tomatina takes place on the streets of Buñol, a charming little hamlet located 38 kilometers west of Valencia, its provincial and autonomous capital city, in Spain. While it may have started for a different (and certainly bizarre reason) altogether, it is now celebrated to honor Buñol’s patron saints – Luis Bertrán and the Virgin Mary.

With a population of not more than 9,000 people, the town of Buñol sat unnoticed year after year till travelers around the world caught wind of the bizarre, yet totally fun Tomatina festival that takes place here every year. As far as the people of Buñol are concerned, they are the some of the most friendliest lot you’ll find in the Europe, and definitely the most creative and adventure-loving as well (where else do you find a festival that legally allows you to throw tomatoes on one another?)

Tagged as the ‘World’s Biggest Food Fight’, La Tomatina is the Spanish tomato throwing festival that takes place on the last Wednesday of August every year. During the Tomatina festival, Spain becomes lively and cheerful than ever. The festival begins at 11 AM on the said day right after the sound of the first cannon and ends at 1 PM when the second cannon is fired to mark the end of the festival. What happens in these two hours is nothing less than a battle where participants throw, rub, and bathe in tomatoes. But the two hours of La Tomatina festival isn’t all that you’ll get to experience on your Spain holiday!

The Tomatina frenzy begins a week before the main festival. So you’ll have a week long of excitement to indulge in. Since the ideal duration for a Spain getaway is around 6 days 5 nights, you’ll have a plethora of things to explore and festivities to engage in while you’re here. Let us underline the prime events you need to look out for on your Spain trip:

25th August, 2021: Music, Dance, Wine, Fireworks, Parades…and Paella!

Music dance and fun

A day before the festival, it’s pure madness on the streets. With music, laughter, dancing, and fireworks, the whole town of Buñol is drenched in a jolly festive spirit. After shopkeepers have put down protective plastic wraps in their shops, everyone gears up for the fun event of the night before the main festival – the Paella making competition!

Culinary enthusiasts line up to prepare the most delicious of Spanish dishes. Once the winner is announced, a grand feast begins wherein food and wine, including the freshly cooked Paella, is distributed to everyone around.

26th August 2021: Let the battle begin!

tomatina lorries making their way through bunol

Trucks bring in and throw onto the central streets of Plaza del Pueblo more than a hundred metric tonnes of tomatoes. But the desperately waiting crowd cannot begin the festival right away! At about 10 AM, a piece of Spanish ham is put up on top of a greased wooden pole. The festival can only begin once a brave soul out of these thousands of people has climbed the pole and retrieved the meat.

It’s the most comical scene for spectators as people try to fight their way to the top in the most bizarre and awkward ways, slipping right back down each time. The warriors soon accept their defeat, and while the ham still dangles on the top, the cannon is fired at sharp 11 AM, the and madness begins!

By the time the second cannon is fired at 1 PM, the town, along with its inhabitants, has been painted red. One is not allowed to throw any more tomatoes after this time. These two crazy hours of squashing tomatoes on strangers and rolling people on the tomato pulp sprawled floor ends with trucks spraying down water on these people. What you’ll see now aren’t just de-tanned individuals, but also the shining, spick and span streets of Buñol, washed clean by the buckets of citric acid thrown over it.

You may remember a rule or two from when Katrina Kaif mentioned them in ZNMD. But let us just brush your memory up a bit:

  • Squash the tomatoes before throwing them so that you don’t end up hurting anyone due to the impact
  • Give way to the lorries carrying tomatoes
  • Do not bring bottles or hard objects into the battle as they can hurt others and cause accidents
  • Do not rip the T-shirts of other people, no matter if they are your BFFs
  • You can throw tomatoes and tomatoes only
  • Do not throw tomatoes after the second shot is fired

With its tropical landscape and laid-back people, Bali gave us the vibes of a very chilled-out place. On our luxury honeymoon in Bali, we found out many ways in which we could relax, unwind, and simply leave behind all the hassles and troubles persisting in our usual lives.

Here is a list of things to do in Bali on a honeymoon for an unforgettable experience:

1. Candlelight dinner

On the first two days of our luxurious honeymoon trip in Bali, we had two candlelight dinners for ourselves. The first one was like a welcome dinner on the beach with beautiful decorations accompanied with a lovely evening breeze.

The next day, we traveled to the Grand Mirage Resort for yet another candlelight dinner which turned out to even better. The ambiance of that place was stylish and elegant.

2. Rejuvenating Couples Spa Sessions

If our spirits were uplifted by unforgettable dinners in Bali, the source of physical rejuvenation and replenishment came through couple’s spa sessions on two different days. On the second day, just before our dinner at Grand Mirage, we had a relaxing spa session complimentary from the people at Samaja Villas Kunti.

The very next day, we visited the Bali Orchid Spa for yet another two-hour couples spa session. The aroma of the scented candles and the soothing music played inside took us into a completely magical trance!

3. Royal life at a private villa

Contrary to popular belief, we found out that living in a luxurious villa all to ourselves was cheaper and better than a room in a 5-star hotel. The perfect accommodation for our luxury honeymoon in Bali, Samaja Villas Kunti offered us a top-class modular kitchen, private swimming pool and amazing interiors for an amazing holiday experience.

4. Shopping in Kuta

Thanks to an excellent recommendation by our agent, the villa that we chose to stay in was within walking distance of all the major markets in Kuta. This helped us save a lot of money we would have used for cabs to reach the market everyday.

We visited a lot of interesting shops on Sunset Road, and undoubtedly the best one was Krisna Souvenir shop. It was the ideal shop for people who wanted to shop for shirts, wood carvings, and souvenirs.

5. Exploring Cafe’s and bars in Kuta

Since the final two days of our itinerary were free, we had the liberty of exploring the nightlife of Bali a little more than the average tourist. On the second night, we visited the post happening club in Bali called Sky Garden Club. Even on a weekend, the place was absolutely bouncing and people were lining up to get in.

On the fifth day of our luxury honeymoon in Bali, we visited the Hard Rock Cafe in Bali and Potato Head Beach club. We enjoyed a delicious meal at Hard Rock and sipped on a few eccentric cocktails at Potato Head Beach club.

Over the past week, my wife and I might not have explored Bali like most people advised us to, but we enjoyed our time in Bali doing something much better. We breathed in the luxuries Bali had to offer and spent precious time with each other that we will cherish forever.

A luxury honeymoon in Bali was definitely a great idea, as it gave the best of luxury, romance, sightseeing, and a cultural experience.

High point:

  • Candlelight dinner at the beach was the most romantic moment of our luxury honeymoon in Bali.

Tip to travelers:

  • It is better to book water sports packages in advance as cannot ascertain if you will get a better deal in Bali, where there is no fixed price for water sports offered by hundreds of agents.

Experience the tropical haven that is Bali. Book your Bali honeymoon package and enjoy an unbelievable mix of beaches, temples, and culture!
