I am someone who doesn’t travel often but when it comes to a family trip, I am more than enthusiastic about it. Why? Because, family trips are fun! Simple. So this time, when we all decided to go on one, I was all excited.

We started searching for the best places to visit near Delhi and finally shortlisted Jim Corbett which was not only very scenic but also on the foothills, thus offering extremely natural experience. Moreover, it had jungle safari and was also well recommended by family and friends.

Found on the internet, I liked how TravelTriangle not only offered us a customizable Jim Corbett family package but also multiple quotes for the same (based on our requirements).

Soon, we finalized our Jim Corbett package from “Travel Vaidya”, an agent on TravelTriangle and were now completely at ease regarding our arrangements.

Our 6 days honeymoon trip to Andaman started as we left for Andaman from Mumbai and reached Port Blair on time. After that, we headed out for sightseeing tour of Port Blair. We covered some really interesting places such as cellular jail, also called Kala Pani, a colonial prison used by the British to exile the political prisoners. It was a very fascinating place and one starts reminiscing about the bygone era, when so many people died for our country’s freedom.

Tip:To get a clear picture of the history of the cellular jail, one can attend the light & sound show which is organized in the cellular jail every evening.

Timings of the show: 5:30-6:30 pm(Hindi) , 6:45-7:45 pm (English)

After that, it was time to visit Samudrika Naval marine museum run by the Indian Navy. There are five sections in the museum showcasing the grand history of the Andaman islands, its people and the abundant corals, giving one a glimpse of the diverse marine life present in the islands. It was a wonderful experience and gave us a deep insight into the history of the islands.

We were done with our sightseeing tour by evening, post which we came back to our hotel and slept off.

Hotel review: De Meadows Resort, Port Blair

A decent property, with spacious rooms and availability of basic amenities. The food is good and one can choose between Deluxe rooms and Super Deluxe rooms. The management is supportive and helps you with anything. Overall, a comfortable stay option in Andaman.

Day 2: The dazzling beaches in Havelock islands

Beaches of Andaman

We were to cover the beautiful Havelock island this day. So we got up quite early and checked out of our hotel by 9 am. It took us three hours to reach there and we reached around 12:30 pm. Upon reaching, we checked into our hotel, Moonlit Sands and relaxed there for sometime. After relaxing, we started our tour of Havelock islands.

Beautiful Andaman beach

During our honeymoon trip to Andaman we first covered the Elephant beach, a quaint beach, approximately twenty minutes away from the Havelock island dock. If you are looking for a white sandy beach with great coral reef, you have come to the right place. The beauty of this beach cannot be described in words; It is enticing for all kinds of travelers. One can easily spend hours here and just relax listening to the sounds of crashing waves. We stayed here till late afternoon, post which we visited the Kala Patthar beach, another great beach not far from the Elephant beach.

solo tourist in Andaman

If you’ve visited the Havelock islands and not visited the Kala Patthar beach, you’ve missed out on something good. It is a very serene beach and boasts of aqua green waters and silvery sands. This beach is relatively untouched so one will not find seaside shacks here. Therefore do not forget to miss this place in your Andaman trip for couples.

Tip:You are advised to carry a hammock, as there won’t be a lot of benches or places to sit around and relax. You can easily tie a hammock to the coconut trees and enjoy the view.

After roaming around for sometime, we had dinner by the beach which made the whole experience even more beautiful. Post dinner, we came back to our hotel and slept off.

Hotel review:Moonlit Sands, Havelock

For our Honeymoon trip to Andaman we were given a really nice hotel to stay in. A hotel with spacious rooms and other amenities such as wifi and laundry services. The staff is very cordial and friendly and goes out of the way to help you. The rooms are normal rooms and most of them are sea facing. The location of the hotel is very good as it is at a walking distance from the Havelock island dock.

Day 3: The charming allure of Radhanagar beach

Best beach in Andaman

I thought we had seen the best beaches of Andaman, but I was wrong . We still hadn’t visited the Radhanagar beach and trust me, it was, undoubtedly the best beach I had ever seen in my life. It is ranked as the best beach in Asia and 7th best beach in the world. There are some good shacks here, serving authentic cuisine and one can try different shacks as per one’s wish.

We had dinner in the hotel itself and slept off early as we had to leave for Port Blair early next day. This was one of the great days of our honeymoon trip to Andaman.

Day 4: Back to Port Blair

Memsmerising havelock islands

This day was reserved for Ross island and we were really excited to go there, as it is one of those untouched small islands. But unfortunately, due to which we could not go there. What a bummer!

Tourists in Chidiya Tapu beach

To compensate, we visited the Chidiya Tapu beach, an amazing beach in Port Blair famous for its sunset point. The view of the sunset from there is something I and my wife will never forget.

After staying there for sometime, we came back to our hotel and called it a night.

Day 6 :Shopping at last!

Sightseeing in and around Andaman

This was the last day of our honeymoon trip to Andaman. We did not want to waste any time so we checked out of our hotel by 9 am.

Now it was time for some shopping. For that, we went to Sagarika Emporium, a place famous for local handicrafts. We shopped to our heart’s content and brought things ranging from souvenirs to clothes. The range of things available here is genuinely praiseworthy.

After shopping to our heart’s content, we left for the airport and took our flight back to Mumbai.

All in all, this honeymoon trip to Andaman was everything we could ask for and more. I don’t think we missed out on any important sightseeing place and we were able to perfectly balance our relaxation time with our sightseeing schedule. neelkanth in Dubai

My sister booked a Mauritius honeymoon package and she enjoyed the experience. Hence, we also wanted to make use of TravelTriangle’s services for a honeymoon package. We wanted a destination that should not be beach or nature exclusive. So, keeping in mind our budget and time frame, Dubai was the best option available.

I submitted a query with TravelTriangle and soon, Nikhil guided me through the process patiently and meticulously. He provided me with options from various travel agents at different quotations. I selected the best offer given to me by ‘View Holiday Trip’ agency.

The Hotel was very nice. They upgraded our room from standard to deluxe without any extra charge levied on us. The hotel was next to the metro station and only five minutes away from major markets. The food catered to us was delicious. We were unsure how good the vegetarian food would be, but after having meals, we were pleasantly surprised.

Places to visit in Dubai for shopping and entertainment

Shopping on a honeymoon trip to Dubai at that time of the year was a blessing as we were in the middle of the annual shopping festival which provided nice discounts on valuable products like gold, chocolates, gadgets, and perfumes.

Here are some important tips and guides for people who are looking to indulge in shopping and entertainment in Dubai

Buying gold in Meena Bazaar

  • It’s a good idea to take one day to explore the market entirely and study which places offers what prices. Once you know the best price, go and buy the product. The price of the electronics vary around 20%.
  • For buying gold, prefer going to Meena Bazaar over Gold Souk market in Bur Deira, purely because Gold Souk has a lot of competition and a very small room for bargaining.
  • The prices of gold will and always remain constant throughout Dubai, what makes a difference is the making price charged by the jeweler (which is negotiable).
  • Gold should be bought in limited, and not in excessive quantity so that one can easily avoid paying an import duty

Living the thrill of Ferrari World

  • It is a good idea to take a guide on your tour to Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi as guides in Dubai are generally very informative and helpful.
  • The guide even told us about the rides we should not miss at any cost on our Ferrari world experience. Our experience was very good. My favorite ride was Formula Rossa – world’s fastest roller coaster and Flying Aces (the scariest ride). I was hesitant on getting onto the rides but my wife urged me to try all the rides.
  • People can easily spend a full day in Ferrari World, as it has many rides and roller coasters.

Shopping for gadgets, perfumes, and dates in Abu Dhabi

outside the palm atlantis
  • An ideal place to buy electronic gadgets like mobile phones at cheaper price which offer international warranty, instead of a country specific warranty given by electronic retailers around the world.
  • The original dates market is in Abu Dhabi where the world renowned dates get imported from Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
  • Known internationally for its perfume (also called Itr), Abu Dhabi has a wide variety of aromas that will brighten up your senses.

Slip and slide in the Wild Wadi Water Park

  • Wild Wadi Waterpark at Jumeirah Beach is one of the famous water park attractions in Dubai.
  • Again, I was hesitant to go on the big water slide, which is the flagship of this water park. But my wife being herself, she encouraged me to take these rides. And I have to say, no matter how much I fear, these rides were excellent to do once you had taken the leap.
  • One thing we loved about the water park was the water was lukewarm. So it was very comfortable spending time in the water along with cool breeze.
  • The boat tour within wild wadi water park takes the tourist not only downstream but upstream as well.

As I look back on my honeymoon trip to Dubai, my heart will be filled with fond memories and colorful pictures of a week spent in luxury and comfort with my wife. My wife and I share a much better understanding and bond with each with other after this amazing adventure to Dubai. We saw serene beaches, marvelous cities, beautiful monuments, and adventurous theme parks all packed into one unforgettable trip.

Highlights:

  • I overcame my fear of dangerous roller coasters and heights all thanks to my wife.

Low points:

  • The agents should be a bit more proactive in offering options for amusement parks. In my case, I had asked the agent to include all the theme parks like Ferrari World and Wild Wadi Waterpark in the package.
